Kylie Minogue has been talking about an Anti-Tour for a while now. Tonight she confirmed that she is kicking off the Anti-Tour, in her home town of Melbourne, in a couple of weeks!
Shows have been announced at the Palace in Melbourne (18 March) and The Big Top, Luna Park, Sydney (20 March). Tickets go on sale at noon (AESST) on Wednesday 7 March.
@SteveAnderson (Kylie’s Musical Director) tweeted that the set list will be made up of ”b sides and rarities, played live with our fabulous Aphrodite band!”
Kylie.com expanded on this. Describing the Anti-Tour as “Small, intimate, unexpected. A unique experience, for super fans only. Kylie and her band performing those songs you thought you’d never hear live! The flipside to a huge “Kylie production”, a once in a lifetime chance and a night to remember.”
Kylie is trying to combat scalping, and ensure that only fans get tickets at a set price of $129.60, rather than exorbitant prices scalpers ask for them, by limiting tickets to 2 per sale and ID must match the ticketholder’s details on the day of the concert.
I’d say there are still going to be many disappointed fans as these limited tickets will definitely sell out quickly. This is a rare opportunity to see Kylie in her most intimate settings, the last time Kylie played such small venues was when she first started touring back in the early 90s!
No other dates or venues have been announced, but no doubt there will be more Anti-Tour shows in this, the year that Kylie celebrates 25 years in the music industry.
While we wait for more dates to be announced check out Kylie’s fabulous performance at this weekend’s Sydney Mardi-Gras.
That’s Entertainment!
