Revenge Season 2 Casting …

*** SPOILER ALERT *** If you haven’t seen the final episode of Revenge please don’t read on

“Let It Play” were the 3 words that ended season 1 of Revenge and stirred much excitement and conversations amongst Revenge fans.

The main topic of conversation since the brilliant finale has been, who will play Emily’s not so dead mum?

According to EW.com, “Back in May, creator Mike Kelley told EW.com: “What we really want to do is find the perfect actor for the role. It would be really great for her to be as formidable as Madeleine [Stowe], but it’s a completely different part.” Stowe once noted, “It’s got to be someone who’s got a little bit of a screw loose and can do that well.”

Well it looks like the perfect actor for this much coveted role is Jennifer Jason Leigh (most famous for her role in Single White Female)!

According to EW.com, Kelley has said about Emily’s mum,  “What you’re going to discover about the woman who was Emily’s mother is the circumstances under which they were separated and you’re going to find that there’s some deep psychological issues with her, which I think is going to be fun for us to explore. For Emily, she’s going to start seeing some of the psychological damage that her mother has in herself.”

The casting of Jason Leigh seems genius. She was frightening in Single White Female and by the sounds of it she has to bring that same kind of scary to Revenge. I for one can’t wait – “let it play” already!

Revenge returns to US screens on 21 September. If you haven’t yet got onto it, RTE2 are playing it out on Tuesday nights at 9pm.

That’s Entertainment!

About The Bellissimo Files

My name's Sarina Bellissimo and I am a TV/Movie junkie. I can’t remember a time when I wasn't fascinated by all things Hollywood/showbiz. I blame my parents! As a child my mum used to force me to watch Elvis Presley films with her, and both my mum & dad would take my brothers and I to the Drive-In to watch the latest films (this is where my love for ROCKY began!). When not watching movies, I was trying to figure out ways to pull the back off the TV so I could somehow get into it and be a part of all the action on the screen! In 2007 I started as a regular contributor to We Love Movies. This means that I get to watch movies, talk about them and even interview some of my screen idols. I’ve interviewed the likes of Robert Pattinson, Ryan Reynolds, Daniel Craig, Uma Thurman, Colin Farrell, Cameron Diaz, and U2, to name but a few. One of my favourite interviews for We Love Movies was the one where I ended up sitting on Ashton Kutcher’s lap! Interviewing Sylvester Stallone would be a dream come true for me. I also appear regularly on Plan B to talk movies with Michelle Beatty as well as regularly contribute to Moncrieff’s Movies and Booze segment on Newstalk 106-108. I co-presented channel 6’s (now 3e) movie show Take Six and have appeared on Ireland AM's Movie & I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here segments. Twitter: @SBellissimo
